Cousin Love: Friday night 10.15pm in the GrainCorp Silo Shed

Cousin Love is schlock horror theatre at its very best, utilizing sketch comedy, sideshow stunts, prosthetics, and filthy dance numbers to tell the story of a thoroughly inbred trio trying to reunite with their pig. Be there through the highs and lows, the sacrifice and heartbreak of this strange and volatile family. Along the way pick up some great party tricks for the bedroom and some new cooking tips! A conceptual fashion performance tailor made for the biannual ‘Nati’ Frinj Festival, Feeling the Ceiling is a celebration of cliff-face fashion, from ‘Hot’ Henry Barber’s white pants and flat top hat of the 1960’s to a revival of the lycra clad 1980’s and beyond. The stage is set with aerial rigging and an in situ climbing wall, performers will literally float through the air and crawl up the walls as they present the history and mystery that is rock climbing.

Witness the effects of this age old tonic of wonder in the
Porcelain Punch Traveling Medicine Show.

Porcelain Punch Traveling Medicine Sho made its first debut at the International Melbourne Fringe Festival 2011, The Melbourne Village Festival, Short and Sweet Cabaret Festival and will premiering at this year’s Comedy Festival.

The heart of the show is set in ye oldie worlds of the medicine shows that once travelled the countryside offering programs of comedy, music, circus and other novelties along with displays of tonics salves and miracle elixirs.

The Porcelain Punch showman Sir Lenard Xavier pitches the punch, the miraculous cure, with a catchy tune followed by different performances made up of a series of acts grouped together on a common bill. Those include the Malleable Miss Molly Minks, Bird lady- the exotic half woman half Fufu Bird, The Boy Wonder and the Great Escape, Billy Banzana the cowboy magician and the adorable Miss Shirley crumple, the medicine show’s living proof of the punches infamous healing properties.

Audiences will be enchanted by these characters and their unique approach to the ridiculous. Actors play in the realms of clown, satire and new circus to deliver a special 45min show that’s not quite freak, not quite magic and not quite right but guaranteed to delight and excite…or your money back!
